Scholarship Winners

Tysheka Moore, a recent Kinston High School graduate and KHA resident, is the 2023 winner of KHA's $1,000 scholarship and a winner of ECAHRO's (Eastern Carolina Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials) $1,500 scholarship. Tysheka excelled academically and athletically at Kinston High School. She will attend NC Wesleyan University in the fall.

Nyviair Davis, a Section 8 resident, won multiple scholarships in 2022 from housing organizations and affiliates. Nyviair graduated from Kinston High School and will attend NC A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. Nyviair was very active in school and in the community. At Kinston High, he played basketball and was a member of The National Honor Society.

Nyviair was awarded $4,500 in scholarships from the following housing organizations/affiliates: Kinston Housing Authority $1,000, SERC-NAHRO $1,500, ECAHRO $1,500, and Brooks Jeffrey Marketing, Inc. $500.
