Greetings,

I am grateful and honored to serve as the Executive Director. I started my housing career with the Laurinburg Housing Authority in 1983 under the leadership of Nancy Walker and Juliet McMillan. I have been with the Kinston Housing Authority since February 21, 1994, serving in several positions.

I appreciate the working relationship with the City of Kinston, Kinston Police and Fire Departments, Health Department, Social Services, ICOR, Salvation Army, and Library. We will continue working with these agencies and many more in order to continue providing housing for the residents within the city and Lenoir County. We appreciate the landlords who participate in the Housing Choice Voucher program and encourage other landlords to contact us.

We would like to encourage the residents to continue participating in the "What Home Means to Me" poster contest. Again, KHA is proud to announce Jada Leonard has once again won the state, regional and national awards. The calendar will be in the KHA offices with Jada's poster in it. We have also sent out the scholarship packet. Please get the information off the website and apply.

I appreciate all of the staff. We have made changes, and these individuals are excited to work in these positions to help enrich the lives of the individuals we serve. Jennitra Veal is the Deputy Director; Chris White-Phillips is the Finance Director and Brandi Graham is the Public Housing Managers' Supervisor. Please reach out to them if you need assistance.
